Using Table Card Holders
There are many different reasons for using table card holders. Whether you plan on using them at home, in a restaurant or somewhere else, they are usually an affordable investment that can save time and headaches. A few ways that table cards accomplish all this are described below.
Seating Plans
The food is cooked, the table is set and everyone is gathered, but no one makes a move to sit down. After a few seconds of hesitation, someone turns to the host or hostess and asks “so, where do you want us to sit?” Sometimes it really doesn’t make a difference where people sit, but other times it does. For example, if a couple comes to dinner, it is nice to seat them next to each other. Or, if you know that personalities clash or mesh, you can plan accordingly. Maybe you, as the hostess, need to be able to go in and out of the room easily and you would like to sit near the door. Table card holders can solve all these dilemmas by letting each guest know exactly where you would like them. With a quick glance, time is saved and confusion eliminated.
Decoration
Card holders can also be an attractive little accent to a well-set table. You can find card holders to compliment almost every kind of spread. Try holiday card holders with Easter egg, heart, ornament, snowflake or pumpkin bases.
Food Services
If you own a restaurant, card holders can make you more efficient and hospitable too. For example, I have been to several places where people stand in line to order and some foods takes a little longer to prepare than others. To shorten the time that customers have to stand in line, send them off with a table card that announces to the servers that they are waiting for a certain kind of sandwich or drink. Your customers will enjoy waiting in a chair, and you will be able to move everyone through the line faster.
It is very easy to convey information with a sign, a picture, a label or a name tag placed in a table card holder. Of course they can be used on tables, as they are described in the example above. But displays of all kinds can utilize these portable and useful tools. Trade shows, science fairs, and presentations are just a few places they could also be used.
