New Jersey Real Estate

Having lived in both New York and Pennsylvania, I know am well-acquainted with the beauty in the Mid-Atlantic region, but the most popular place to live in the area is definitely New Jersey. This is clearly evident in the fact that New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country; even more so than Rhode Island.

In New Jersey, residents enjoy not only the metropolitan attractions of New York City and Philadelphia, but the natural beauty of mountains trails, miles of Atlantic coastline and large pine forests. In spite of how many people would like to live there, the state has done an exceptional job of controlling development. Even today, almost half the state is still wooded. And, in addition to its natural beauty and convenient location, New Jersey has a reputation for outstanding ethnic diversity and academic excellence.

Personally, if I were moving to New Jersey I think I would choose to live in one of the less populated regions. If you want to live in an area with a rural feel, look at houses in the Skylands or the Pine Barrens regions. The mountains and forests in these areas make them harder to develop and they are further away from the metropolis centers than other regions. The Shore regions would also be tempting for me because I love to watch the ocean, play at the beach and reap the rewards of living near fresh fishing. If you want to be close to work, the more populated areas may be your first choice though.

No matter where you choose to look, you will find real estate that captures your attention. Keeping with the laws of supply and demand, real estate in NJ is typically much more expensive than real in other states. Still, if you can afford to live there, you will definitely love the area.
