Buying Restaurant Equipment for your Kitchen

When I hear the words “restaurant equipment” I automatically think of jumbo sizes. Perhaps this is just because of the number of people that move in and out of a busy restaurant and I know that I need bigger pans to cook rice, pasta, and stir fry for larger groups of people.

Online College Degrees - A Growing Trend

Today’s competitive marketplace makes it difficult for anyone to get a job, and those who don’t have a college degree, regardless of experience and ability, are at a dramatic disadvantage.

I understand that going to a college or university full time is not an option for everyone, especially single parents who have to juggle sometimes two or three jobs to make ends meet. For these people, getting that degree is more desirable than anything, but seems about as possible as winning the lottery. But through an online university getting a degree could be a feasible option.

New Old Cars

Last weekend my husband brought home a new car. Well, an old car that’s new to him. The funny thing is he already had this car. My husband bought a black 1996 VW Golf (Roxanne) eight years ago and drove it into the ground.

Last spring the transmission went out and I knew old Roxy was gone for good, but my poor husband couldn’t accept this until the guy at his Edison Park auto repair shop went over the numbers with him of what it would cost to replace the transmission (which was significantly more than the twelve year old car was worth). He was sympathetic, I think he has a thing for Volkswagens too.

Illinois Real Estate by Region

If you are looking for Illinois real estate, chances are that most of your options lie in or around Chicago because the city’s strong economy and active port have drawn about two-thirds of the state’s population lives in the northeast corner of Illinois. There is a lot to see and do in Chicago, but other areas in the state might appeal to your tastes too.

New Home Builders in Atlanta Georgia

Like most people searching for new homes right now, my husband and I are overwhelmed by soaring house prices and discouraged by the prospects of a failing economy. House prices in the area we live in are ridiculously inflated and it looked as if we’d never get out of our rental and into a home of our own.

The Good and the Bad in the Silicon Slopes

Living in Utah, I am around a lot of technology, finance, and customer service related companies. These companies are always hiring, and really help give the economy a boost. As a matter of fact, I think this insurgence of companies has contributed to Utah not feeling the recession as much as people in other areas around the country.

The Utah and Salt Lake Valley’s have been dubbed the “Silicon Slopes” because of the rapidly growing number of internet and technology companies that are popping up all over the valleys. The companies so far are holding their own and are set up for longevity. However, there are some companies that are not as well-off and not as desirable to potential employees, and therefore face a much more difficult road.

A Home Outside of Jackson Hole

Victor, Idaho has become a bedroom community of sorts for nearby Jackson Hole, Wyoming. High real estate prices inside of Jackson Hole are the main reason developers even turned their sights on the sleepy little town of Victor, but once it was discovered the town experienced a lot of growth. For example, in the 2000 census, the town’s population was only around 840 people. Now, only 8 years later, that number has doubled.

In addition to being more affordable than Jackson Hole, Victor is a popular place because of its proximity to the Grand Tetons and several national parks. Whether you enjoy testing your strength against the great outdoors or settling back to enjoy the view, Victor is an ideal location.

One of my favorite Victor real estate developments would have to be The Ponds because there are so many streams and reservoirs scattered throughout the houses in that area. I wouldn’t recommend living there if you have an adventurous toddler, but slightly older families will certainly enjoy the sounds, sights and fishing that nine local ponds provide.

If you do settle down in Victor and you are looking for exceptional summer entertainment, I would recommend driving half an hour to the Bar-J where you can enjoy a chuck wagon dinner and authentic cowboy entertainment. The food is great and I guarantee that you will laugh and have fun.

Two Dangers to Avoid in Online Learning: Diploma Mills and Procrastination

One of the best things about online classes is that they can put degrees within the reach of people who can’t physically attend college on campus because of day-time obligations like jobs and children. Since they have become increasingly popular, online classes are offered in several fields. They cover a wider range of subjects than before and you can earn an entire degree by taking enough of them. Online classes also provide the freedom to work when and where you want.

Interactive Pool — Easy on Swimming Pool Contractors

There are not many pool sites that have such a program where you can at least put an abstract notion of what kind of pool you would like to build. FreePoolQuotes.com makes their site extra helpful to put your idea down straight from their web site. Working with your swimming pool contractors makes it that much easier to flesh out a legit blueprint using this option.

Pool Builder

The pool builder on FreePoolQuotes.com is an interactive virtual pool assembler. In other words you can click to pick options for your pool and get a general image of the pool as a final project. For instance, my personal favorite is the multi-circular pool assembled with a flagstone decking with brick coping. Throw in some fiber optic lighting and it’s on. I’ll save the diving board and slide for the water parks and community center pools.

Okay it’s not going to blow doors down in the graphics department, but like any mental image, you can talk to someone until your face is blue, but until they actually see something it never seems to get the impression across correctly — including swimming pool contractors.

Give it a whirl, and if not for your swimming pool contractors’ piece of mind, you can do it for your own — or just have fun with your imagination.

New Jersey Real Estate

Having lived in both New York and Pennsylvania, I know am well-acquainted with the beauty in the Mid-Atlantic region, but the most popular place to live in the area is definitely New Jersey. This is clearly evident in the fact that New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country; even more so than Rhode Island.

In New Jersey, residents enjoy not only the metropolitan attractions of New York City and Philadelphia, but the natural beauty of mountains trails, miles of Atlantic coastline and large pine forests. In spite of how many people would like to live there, the state has done an exceptional job of controlling development. Even today, almost half the state is still wooded. And, in addition to its natural beauty and convenient location, New Jersey has a reputation for outstanding ethnic diversity and academic excellence.
