Buying Restaurant Equipment for your Kitchen
When I hear the words “restaurant equipment” I automatically think of jumbo sizes. Perhaps this is just because of the number of people that move in and out of a busy restaurant and I know that I need bigger pans to cook rice, pasta, and stir fry for larger groups of people.
In my mind’s eye I can picture chefs running around a steamy kitchen in white suits and caps tending giant pots on giant stoves with giant spoons. In reality though, bigger equipment might not be the most time-efficient tools. In fact, some of the smallest tools can make the biggest difference in your restaurant business.
For example, card holders are small and simple tools that can get your customers through a line, seated and served quickly. A knife is another tool that doesn’t necessarily need to be bigger to be better. In fact, smaller knives can sometimes be easier to handle. Either way, the size of a knife doesn’t make as much difference as its sharpness.
Whether Restaurant equipment is large or small, I’d imagine that it also needs to be affordable and durable. After all, you need a lot of plates, bowls, utensils, take-out containers and the like just to serve your customers and you know that it will get a lot more use than household appliances. It will also change hands more often which increases its risk of being dropped.
